"User Avatar"

“Maintenance Mode” is an add-on for Jira by Atlassian, created to

show avatars aside custom fields of type user.

Once installed the add-on on your Jira instance, the application will start work and you will start to see avatars aside custom fields of type user that you didn't see before!

The add-on is free for use till it's 1.0.8 version and compatible for Jira versions 7.0.0-7.12.3.

From version 2.0.1 the add-on is paid.

How To Control Where To Show User Avatars?

InfoYou can do that only in the paid version!

allow Jira admins to set a maintenance landing page and redirect all users to it during maintenance time.
Jira admins can decide which users / groups can still use Jira during maintenance and not being redirect to the landing page.

How it Works?

Go to the "Add-ons" page in the admin section (must be Jira admin to access this).

Look for "USER AVATARMaintenance Mode" in the left panel, click "Display ConfigurationMaintenance Mode" under it.

Now you will see 3 check boxes (by default they are all marked).

You will see avatars if a check box marked, if you don't want to see avatars in a specific page, clear the check box, and save.

For example, if i want to see avatars only in "Issue View" without seeing avatars also in "Dashboards" and "Search Results" screens, it will look like that:

At the first use, the "Active" field not exist, as you must set a maintenance page first.

Set Maintenance Page

Set your maintenance page as described in the fields under the header "Set maintenance page".

Once you clicked "save" you can see your changes under "Preview" and see how your maintenance page looks like.

Allow Jira Access in Maintenance

Set users / groups to have access to keep use Jira while everyone else are in maintenance mode.

Info
titleNote!

If you activate "Maintenance Mode" without set users / groups to have access in "Maintenance Mode" you will be locked out from your Jira.

To fix this issue you will have to connect to your Jira database and delete the record from table "AO_4CE5E7_MAINTENANCE_MODE"

This will make the plugin act like it was just installed, you will have to set your maintenance page all over again.

Remove Jira Access in Maintenance

Remove given users /groups access to keep use Jira while everyone else are in maintenance mode.
